**This is our ExPVE lore!**
The original settlers: Us humans which we refer to as the explorers, established the first colony on this island centuries ago. After years of thriving off the island and its resources, one day they stumbled upon a large castle on top of a mountain hidden deep in the woods. These humans were afraid of the artifacts and remains they found, and decided it was best to leave the castle alone. More time passes and the explorers establish connections with scientists along with the military.
The explorers are happy and thriving, but the militarized side of the island had plans of its own. The military attempted contact with the extra terrestrial, and gained much more of an answer than they expected. Years forward just as they start closing the project on July 13th, 2018 the aliens ambushed our military. They tried everything from tanks and nukes to building robots of war. Nothing was working and the explorers were terrified of what was to come.
A group of the settlers that researched the castle in secret proposed to resurrect the entity that resided in the castle and everyone agreed. They brought back ancient kings along with their pets that claimed to be gaurdians of the planet and watched them be crushed by the extra terrestrial in horror. The humans, doing what they do best, continued experimenting with things they knew they shouldnt.
Another few decades of war that seemed to be endless and the people thought they finally created the most efficient weapon to beat them. The scientists created an infectious disease to defeat the aliens, but nothing went as planned. They infected almost EVERYONE even themselves! Both aliens and humans were infected with a virus that uses them as a host. The robots after years of no commands seemed to copy the movements and sounds of the infected.
Now, the wall they built to keep stuff out is now keeping monsters in. I bet there's a lot of useful stuff behind those walls.. I bet even keycards!
